Athlytic alternative: readiness, plans and stats in one app

Updated · 4 min read

Athlytic made the morning recovery score popular on Apple Watch: one number from your HRV and resting heart rate, no extra strap. If you are looking for an alternative, you probably want more than the number itself. You want to know what to do with it, see how your training adds up across sports, or pay once instead of every year. Here is how Keho compares, on the points where it is as good or better.

Short answer

Keho is an Athlytic alternative that turns the readiness score into a plan. Like Athlytic, it reads your Apple Watch data from Apple Health, needs no account and computes on your iPhone. Its morning verdict (0–10, from sleep, HRV, resting heart rate and training load) unlocks for a one-time $4.99 instead of a subscription, statistics for every sport are free, and Keho Coach adapts running, cycling and yoga plans to your recovery.

Readiness that changes the plan

A recovery score is most useful when it changes what you do. In Keho, the morning verdict sits next to today’s session. With Keho Coach, the plan itself listens: when your sleep, HRV or training load point to a tougher day, Keho offers easier options for the session or the week, and keeping the plan as it is always stays an option. Travelling, short on time or not feeling your best? Tell Keho and the week adjusts. Plans cover a first 5K up to a marathon, cycling events and a first 50 or 100 km, and yoga at home, and every session can go to your Apple Watch.

Pay once for readiness

Athlytic Pro is a subscription: $29.99 a year or $4.99 a month. In Keho, readiness, training load and form and the VO2max trend are a one-time $4.99 unlock, and they come included with every other purchase, including Keho Coach ($24.99 a year) and Polar Sync. Core statistics are free forever, so nothing you can see today disappears later.

Statistics for every sport

Keho turns your Apple Health workouts into totals, trends and personal bests for running, cycling, swimming, strength, yoga and more. It recognises intervals and hill repeats, shows time in each heart-rate zone including Zone 2, and exports any workout as a FIT file or its route as GPX. Read more in workout statistics from Apple Health.

Same privacy

Both apps get this right. Athlytic has no accounts and says it does not upload your data. Keho has no account either, computes on your iPhone and keeps your health data in Apple Health and on the device. Switching costs you nothing: both read the same Apple Health history, so Keho starts with the HRV, sleep and workouts you already have.

Switching takes a few minutes

  1. Install Keho and allow Apple Health. No account; your history is read on your iPhone.
  2. Check the morning verdict and the reasons behind it on Home.
  3. Optional: start a plan. Pick running, cycling or yoga and read week 1 before you buy.

Questions

Can I use Keho and Athlytic together?

Yes. Both only read Apple Health, so they don’t get in each other’s way.

Will Keho’s score match Athlytic’s?

Not exactly. Keho also weighs sleep and training load, and compares each input with your own usual range. Read the trend over weeks. See how a readiness score works.

Does Keho work without an Apple Watch?

Yes, with any watch or ring that saves sleep and HRV to Apple Health, and with Polar, Garmin and Strava through Keho’s own syncs.
