HealthFit alternative: workout statistics that know your recovery

Updated · 4 min read

HealthFit is a long-standing way to analyse Apple Health workouts on iPhone: training load, heart-rate and power zones, trends and exports. If you are looking for an alternative, it is usually because you want the statistics to know how you recovered, or to turn them into a plan. Here is how Keho compares, on the points where it is as good or better.

Short answer

Keho is a HealthFit alternative that adds recovery and coaching to workout statistics. It is a free download with core statistics free forever: totals, trends and personal bests for every sport, heart-rate zones, workout maps and GPX and FIT export. On top, it gives you a morning readiness verdict from sleep, HRV and training load, and plans for running, cycling and yoga that adapt to it. No account; everything is calculated on your iPhone.

Statistics, free to start

Keho turns every workout in Apple Health into statistics: totals, trends and personal bests for running, cycling, swimming, strength, yoga and more, age-graded race results, heart-rate zones from your real thresholds, maps, splits, grade-adjusted pace, power zones, cadence and every climb. Intervals, hill repeats, tempo runs and strides are recognised on their own, with pace and heart rate for every rep. All of that is free. Export any workout as a FIT file, or its route as GPX, from the workout’s menu.

Statistics that know your recovery

Training load says how hard you trained. It doesn’t say how you recovered. Keho adds that half: every morning a readiness verdict from 0 to 10, built from last night’s sleep, your HRV and resting heart rate against your own usual range, and your recent load. Every vital gets its own tile with the last seven nights and a trend. Readiness, training load and form and the VO2max trend are Keho’s advanced statistics: $4.99 once, or included with any purchase.

From numbers to a plan

With Keho Coach ($24.99 a year), the same numbers steer a plan: running from a first 5K to a marathon, cycling for a sportive, gran fondo, gravel event or a first 100 km, and yoga at home. When sleep, HRV or load point to a tougher day, Keho offers easier options and you decide. Sessions go to your Apple Watch with pace, power and heart-rate alerts.

Switching takes a few minutes

  1. Install Keho from the App Store. There is no account to create.
  2. Allow Apple Health. Keho reads the workouts, heart rate, HRV and sleep already there, history included, so your statistics fill in at once.
  3. Set your zones. Keho can anchor heart-rate zones on your real maximum or thresholds. Our heart rate zone calculator helps you find them.
  4. Optional: connect Polar, Garmin or Strava to bring data into Apple Health that your watch app leaves out.

Nothing moves out of HealthFit and nothing is deleted. Both apps read the same Apple Health store, so you can compare them side by side for as long as you like. If you export workouts to other services today, keep that habit: Keho’s FIT and GPX export covers one workout at a time, straight from its menu.
